CSER Invited Science Session @ PAS 2017

CSER consortium research will be featured at the upcoming Pediatrics Academic Societies (PAS) 2017 Meeting (May 6 - 9, San Francisco, CA). PAS is the premiere national and international conference highlighting important research work in pediatric medicine.

CSER investigators will be presenting an Invited Science Session entitled “State of the Art in Pediatric Genomics: Evidence from the CSER Consortium.” This session, hosted by the American Pediatric Society and the Society of Pediatric Research, two of the national professional societies that organize the annual PAS meeting, will provide cutting-edge findings from the CSER Consortium on the application of genomics technologies to pediatric practice.

This session will be held on Sunday, May 7 2017, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm in room SFC-3006 in Moscone Center WestPresenters are as follows:

  • Dr. Ingrid Holm, from Boston Children’s Hospital, will be presenting on the application of genomic technologies to pediatric rare disease.
  • Dr. Will Parsons, from Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital, will present on the utility of tumor sequencing in the treatment of children with cancer.
  • Dr. Alanna Kulchak Rahm, from Geisinger Health System, will discuss recent innovations supporting the utilization of genomic data by pediatric clinicians with limited experience in genetics.
  • Dr. Kyle Brothers, from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, will provide an overview of ethical challenges that arise in the use of genomic testing in pediatric medical care.
  • The panel will be moderated by Dr. Ben Wilfond from Seattle Children’s Hospital.
